OSB Volunteer Day with Friends of Trees
February 9, 2019 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm
We invite all OSB members and their families to enjoy a crisp February day planting trees and community building with Friends of Trees. All ages are welcome and encouraged!
What to expect: Please arrive by 8:45am to register and be assigned to a planting crew. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather: wear sturdy shoes/rubber boots (sandals are not allowed for your own safety), rain-proof layers are always great, and be prepared to get a little dirty. Friends of Trees provides gloves, tools, and guidance–as well as breakfast snacks and hot coffee/tea to get everyone fueled up! There’s a warm potluck lunch provided by the hosting neighborhood groups to all volunteers when the planting is complete–we hope everyone can stay for it!
Activities: We’ll be planting new street and yard trees in the Creston-Kenilworth, Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta and Reed neighborhoods in SE Portland. This will be a large volunteer effort for people of all ages to help plant sidewalk and yard trees; improving Portland’s air quality now and in the future.
RSVP: Email [email protected] to register. Please RSVP by February 6, 2019.
